Marine Aquariums
Saltwater expertise for fish-only systems, live rock and full reef aquaria
The most spectacular aquatic displays
A marine aquarium maintains saltwater organisms at 24–28°C (75–82°F), pH 8.0–8.3, and salinity 1.024–1.025 (32–33 ppt).
Marine aquaria fall into three sub-groups:
- Fish Only — focused purely on marine fish species
- Fish Only with Live Rock (FOWLR) — live rock provides biological filtration and habitat
- Reef Aquaria — the most complex, featuring corals, invertebrates and fish
Marine systems require more equipment, knowledge and stringent water quality monitoring than freshwater. To ensure your livestock remains healthy, good filtration, appropriate lighting and consistent water chemistry are essential. The Fish Man provides this guidance and ongoing maintenance.
